1270 is a 110' Pierce Velocity Aerial Platform with a 1500 GPM (gallon per minute) Waterous pump, 500 gallon onboard water tank, aerial waterway and hydraulic generator. The truck is equipped with a full compliment of LED task and emergency lighting and roll-up doors to keep all the controls and tools dry and functioning properly. The cabinets are filled with equipment to assist the crew of six firefighters perform ventilation tasks at a fire scene. 1270's primary duty is to provide additional firefighters and equipment to normal fire scenes, and to give a platform in the air to be sure that firefighters remain safe during dangerous ventilation operations. This truck is a significant improvement over our previous straight ladder, and allows us to overcome vertical obstacles we were unable to before.
