1250

1290 is a water tender, or tanker, with a 2200 gallon water supply and two portable tanks. The tanker has no pump, but will dump water through quick-dump valves into a 4000 gallon portable tank which the engine will then draft from. The tanker can also connect directly to the back of an engine with a hose, which is used for 'nursing' the engine when only a low volume water source is necessary. Tankers are often called for by other Fire Departments requesting mutual aid for large structure fires. 1290 carries a crew of 2 personnel.
